I finally knew who is the girl that always uses my favourite cubicle for shower. This morning she passed by my door as I left the room to do my business. I always do a big one before shower. And she too, has the same habit as me. Only thing she is a bit kinkier. As she passed me, I saw her wrapped in her yellow towel and went to the toilet. Not that I was following her, but it was just pure coincidence. After both of us had finished, at about the same time too, we would go and bathe. I knew it was her using my favourite cubicle because I recognized her slippers. We bathe in different cubicles afterward of course. Well, the juicy part ends right here, except for occasional moaning from her.
Today’s work was all about experiments, just like the past few days. But today was really cramped as suddenly there were a few more customers popping up and I also wanted to do more so as to cover up for those slots that were empty in the last few days. I even had to squeeze one during lunchtime. Special request from that client to do during lunchtime. Hence, I missed the chance of eating with the guys when they came and asked me. Shortly after lunch, a client came slightly earlier and he brought along a female colleague who wanted to watch the experiment before signing up. I told her she was not allowed to view the experiment beforehand. The most she could get would be a brief explanation from me regarding the experiment. She agreed with the rule and fixed an appointment with me next Tues.
Finally I had a bit of rest time before the last customer turned up and so I went to find Julien, the student who helped to do my experiment last time. I asked if I could have his login and password for the free internet access in the multimedia centre. He gave it to me without hesitation but he was afraid I might not be able to enter the multimedia centre at night because my access card is different. He said I can wait for people to come out and ask them to hold the door for me. I shall try later tonight. Then I chatted a bit with hui after reading his blog. I wasn’t sure if my words of comfort were of any use to him but me and ws have been trying for almost 2 years now. Hope this France trip would change his mindset. Then I said I would wake up at 3am on Monday morning just to call up the French Embassy in Singapore (SG time 10am) to clarify our doubts on VISA. I am really scared to go back to the prefecture now. People would push and jam at the door at 9am, stretching out their hands to take the ticket number. And there are 4 or 5 different tickets for different services. I only know one of them is for resident permit. The rest I have no idea at all. So I decided to make an international call. Anyway it would be clearer since I got the VISA in Singapore. I doubt anyone in the prefecture can explain clearly to me. But hui said that if I am using normal phone card, I would only have 5 to 10 min of talking time. In the end, he decided that he would make the call since he got a calling card. Great.
Rest of the free time I was looking at the photos that my cousin took while she was in LA with her boyfriend. No wonder she asked me about going to Disneyland in Paris. She was really like a princess in Disneyland and was enjoying herself. Staying at a cottage, BBQ at the porch, going to Hawaii, etc. That is what I think a tour should be. Not like mine, eating bread, walking around alone, struggling with my map, and so on. I am a wanderer, not a tourist. But just wait till my IA ends. The last client came at 4pm and after he had finished, he asked if people outside IRISA could try. He said he might ask his girlfriend to come and try. “Shen Jing Bin”! But of course I said she is welcomed. She can ask her girlfriends to come also. Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, etc. Of course I didn’t say that lah. But think this last participant is really boliao. I don’t feel that the experiment is so interesting.
After that I was telling hui that we should visit the tallest bridge in the world which is in Millau, southwest France. It is a bridge hanging between 2 mountains and almost in the clouds. But it was too out of the way and so most probably we wouldn’t go there. Back at INSA, I watched another touching episode of “Band of Brothers”. Thereafter, I went down to the Multimedia Centre to try the free access. As expected, I can’t enter the building using my access card. But there would always be people coming out of the building and so I just grabbed the chance and went in. I found myself a free PC and login. There were a group of French students there playing some sort of LAN game, counter strike I guess. The Window was customized to French and I couldn’t change the setting unless I login as the administrator. This is super inconvenient but no choice. I should be happy that I can surf the net at night. I also couldn’t download any songs or programs. But that is alright as my main purpose is to use the net to plan for my tour. Also I need not burn my journal and photos into CDR and bring to the office for uploading. Here, I can use the thumbdrive. A girl came to me and asked me if I have scissors. Although I understood what she wanted, I still instinctively asked her to speak in English. She looked a bit surprise and I quickly said I have no scissors and apologized. I guess she assumed that I can speak French because I had “infiltrated” into the building and had an account. Actually, I do have a pair of scissors in my pencil case before I came to France. But it was confiscated by the custom in Changi Airport. I thought I was already being very cautious. I took out my shaver, can-opener, pocket knife, etc and put them in the check-in luggage. But I just forgot about the scissors. The officer even took out my thumbdrive and asked me what that was. A detonator he thought.
So now with the internet access, I would be able to plan the tour slowly and also for my own weekly trip. For tomorrow, it would Fougeres as planned.
