24 April - 5th Element (Day 96)

I set the alarm at 10am this morning but woke up before that. It was still quite dark outside and I thought it must be 7 or 8am. But when I checked the time, it was already 955am. I drew the blind and it was raining outside. The sunny days that I had last month had disappeared. The true nature of Brittany revealed herself. Rain, rain and more rain. Sundays are always boring for me here. I could go down to town and walk a bit but that meant I had to take the bus. Don’t want to waste on a bus ticket. Anyway, all shops are closed on Sunday here.

I could perhaps pay a visit to some of my friends in the residence, but thought otherwise. I guess the French students that I knew here had their own agendas on Sundays. As for the Indian guy, I wasn’t keen in visiting him. Maybe someday when I need his internet access in his room. The multimedia centre was closed for these 2 weeks due to the holidays. Hence, I played games all afternoon and then daydreamt a bit. Most of the time dreaming about the end of the attachment. I have 54 days to the date 17th June, on which would be my last day in IRISA because 18th is a Saturday. I have 7 weekends left. Which meant 7 more places to go. I don’t want to plan which Saturday is for which destination anymore because it seems like I never kept the schedule. Always changing. But still I have some places in mind. I think I might even consider Caen, which is in Normandy if I am really running out of places to go.

At night I watched “The 5th Element” and never realised that it was an action comedy last time. Chris Tucker playing the DJ was damn funny. The Diva was superb and Milan Jovovich was beautiful. Bruce Willis was bald; well he is balder now. A pity was the DVD came only with 1 disc. I didn’t have the other disc with bonus materials. I am really interested in Milan Jovovich who is simply gorgeous, skinny and breastless. I only knew 3 of her movies; this one, “Jean of Arc” and “Resident Evil”. Speaking about movies, there is this movie called “Kingdom of Heaven” about to show here on 4th May. I see its posters everywhere and it looks cool. A bit medieval and fantasy mix. And it stars Orlando Bloom. It would be great if I can catch a show here but most probably the subtitle would be in French. If not the audio.

I think from now on I am going to do my grocery every week because doing it fortnightly is kind of restrictive. One week I would buy those important food stuffs and another I would treat myself with cookies and chips and other luxury items. My endurance is wearing off now. For the first 2 months I thought I had spent quite a lot and maybe my spending would reduce as time goes by because I would have bought all the necessary stuffs already. But then, the more I get settled in, the more things I wanted to buy. But I guess I should have enough to pay for the tour in end.
