A bright sunny morning it was today to go for a walk. I wanted to check out the location of Leader Price which I passed by yesterday on my way to Fougeres. After walking for about 4km north of INSA, I saw a huge signboard with the word “Carrefour” written on it. There is one in Centre Sevigne, which from my map is probably 4 or 5km south of INSA. Maybe I would check that out later on the way back. As I walked on, I saw the MacDonald’s sign and went to check out the price. The price of one Big Mac is 3.20 euros while a meal cost about 6 to 7 euros. Although the price was almost 3 times that in Singapore, I think perhaps I would try one of these days. But on second thought, I should spend that money to try a Brittainy Creperie. Finally I found Leader Price but of course it was closed on Sunday. I would come here on Tues evening to do my grocery as I can’t do that on Sat anymore since I have already decided to travel every weekend.

Across the road is a park called Parc des Gayeulles. It looked similar to McRichite (how to spell that reservoir?) back in Singapore, with lots of trees and the path filled with granite pebbles. And there were a lot of joggers, both young and old. Perhaps because of the good weather. Unlike other parks that I had been to, this one specifically forbids dogs. There were so many people jogging I felt as if I was in the way. The only people walking here are the elderly. And I was the only one with a coat while everybody else was in running attire. Then I came upon a lake with a few ducks and 3 swans. Some old people were sitting on the benches at the side of the lake. It was very relaxing esp. with the sun bright and shining. There was a playground nearby with children playing the slides while their parents chatted at the side.

As I walked deeper into the woods, there was a field with barred wire around it. Inside there were 2 horses and 1 donkey. I stood at the edge and looked at the 3 beasts eating grass casually at the centre of the field. Just then, one of them spotted me and looked straight in my eyes. We were like communicating, some sort of telepathy. Then it slowly approached me, bending down to smell the grass from time to time. Although the horse was near, I couldn’t touch it from where I stood because of the trees. So I shifted to another place. The horse turned and followed me. Then it stuck its head over the fence, as if wanting me to pat it. I suddenly had a feeling that the horse was lonely. Maybe he sensed my loneliness too. After spending 10min touching the horse and taking picture of him, I found myself talking to him. I was asking him if he was a horse because from a closer view, he looked too short to be a horse. Perhaps a mule. And all this while he was looking at me, as if he understood my words. At the corner of his right eye, I could see tears coming out. Really were tears. I felt I had spent too long here and so bid goodbye to the horse. But I would definitely return to see him because I think I would jog here every Sunday morning.

I headed back to INSA and dropped the idea of finding Carrefour because I had been walking for almost 2 hrs now and was damn hungry. Back at INSA, I began to plan for my next trip on the coming Saturday. I read a bit on Dinan from the guide book but still had not decide on it yet because I hadn’t completely given up on the King Arthur Forest. I think I would call the Office of Tourism for Paimpont tomorrow and check out the details. In the afternoon, I watched MI2 and although it was a purely “gek seh” show, I was impressed by Tom Cruise’s stunts esp. his rock climbing scene which he shot personally. And it was a very typical John Woo movie because of all the slow-mo and Tom shooting with 2 guns like Chow Yun Fatt. I think Tom is really a fantastic actor with lots of charm and I think he is handsomer than Brad Pitt although he is shorter.
The whole of next week would be experiment again but I don’t have many participants. Hopefully on Monday, there would be an influx of emails from interested people. And I think I would knock off at 530pm from now on so that I can access the multimedia centre. Now, I find myself so busy (not work but personal life) that I almost don’t have time to write my fantasy novel (wanted to continue writing today but just no inspirations) and to program the game and the website. With Tues night spent doing grocery, Thurs night on soccer and whole of Sat on traveling, the week passes by quite fast. And tomorrow I would finish the entire series of the anime “Cowboy Bebop” and had already told Mr. Giant that I would borrow “.Hack Sign” and some of the “.Hack” OAV from him. With all these animes, I couldn’t even finish watching the VCDs that I brought along. And of course on Sunday, I would visit my pet horse at the park. Maybe I should give it a name. “Chocolate” I shall call it since it is brown.
