I woke up as usual this morning and worked on my final report in the room. When it was 1030am, I went to the admin office to pay my last rental. Final rental, yeah! I was charged 15 euros lesser because I am not staying until 19 June. I am leaving 17 June (or earlier). Then I asked the English-speaking admin officer about my 130 euros deposit. She said she can only credit it into my bank on the day I leave. And she said the same thing. I have to close my bank account one month after I left. I said I would be back in SG then and I wouldn’t be able to get my money back. She said I should check with the bank and ask them to transfer my money to my SG bank. I know this is feasible because when I went to open my account in Jan, the manager said the transfer is possible. But I just wanted to see my 130 euros in my wallet asap so that I can use it during my end tour. Another question was about my departure. I will leave at 8am on 17th June but the admin office is not opened yet. She said I can just drop the keys and access card into a box outside the office. Ok. At least one problem settled. I guess the bank issue shouldn’t be a problem too.
Back in the office, I spent the entire day doing the ppt slides. I was quite moody during lunch for the past 2 days because I just wanted to go back and work on my report and presentation. Halfway in the afternoon, xiaopei said hi over msn. I asked her if jiehua is going over to Munich to look for her but she said not sure. Hua zai always like that. Say say only. He said he would be travelling from April onwards but is still hanging around in Italy. He also said would come visit me in France but say say only. She asked me to go also but I really can’t because Germany is quite out of the way for my tour. Then she said she is planning to go Berlin in June and asked if I would like to go too. She said it will be 11th and 12th June. Wah. My last week in Rennes man. Furthermore, Berlin is really quite far from Rennes.
I said I will check how feasible it is for me to go. All the budget airlines have really lousy timing. 0640am from Paris to Berlin. How am I supposed to get to Paris at that time? While discussing with her, Anatole came in with the printed copy of my half-done report. He then talked to me about the general vision of the project, the direction of how my presentation should be. Before he left, he asked me about the Loire Valley and I told him it was too crowded but still a good experience. Then I told him I am planning to go to Berlin in June. He opened his eyes wide, staggered a bit and said he doesn’t know what to expect from me next. The Loire Valley and all the travels around Brittany already amazed him. Now I am going to Berlin! I said might only.
Back to work. I couldn’t concentrate much as the Berlin trip kept buzzing in my mind. At 430pm, Laurent asked me to join him at the cafeteria. We ordered hot chocolate and chatted at a corner. I told him about the Berlin trip. He asked me if that friend is my girlfriend and I said no. Then I talked a bit more on the trip and what my friend is doing in Munich. He then asked if she is my gf and I told him no again. I know he is going to Poland to see his dream girl next week. But this friend of mine is really not close at all. We never talk in HJC. Just that I feel it is a rare chance to meet up with a SG in Europe. XP missed the trip to Berlin because her VISA was delayed and all her friends who arrived in Germany earlier had already been to Berlin.
Back in the office, xp and I continued to discuss about the trip. I suggested that I go to Munich to find her and then we take the train together to Berlin. Meeting up at Berlin is too troublesome and waste of time. She agreed but has to discuss with her female flatmate. She then asked how many days do I want to spend in Munich. This I can only confirm next week. By next Thursday, I would finish 90% of my work here. She told me to give her an answer by next Tues as she has to book the train tickets. And next Wednesday onwards she would be on leave, going to Venice this time. Wah lew. She is really enjoying man. I would want to go for such overseas training next time. She has been to Paris, Austria and perhaps many other places. I have only been travelling around Brittany. I have not even been to Paris!
Hui told me tomorrow he is going Ronan’s house for BBQ. Glad that he is having some social life too. It seems like towards the end of the IA, we have more and more activities. In the beginning I was so lonely. Now I don’t even have to time to call home. I had to email my bro again telling him I can’t call home this weekend. Probably next weekend also. And the next. And the next. I think I should try to call next week during the weekdays. Tomorrow I will be going with Laurent to the North Coast and spend my weekend there. The next weekend I hope Ana can go with me to the Island. The next one would probably be in Rennes but my Bday is on that Fri. So maybe I will go somewhere. And then the last weekend would be to Germany. Things are moving fast now…
