A good news came in the morning when Ana emailed me and said she is willing to participate in the experiment. She also asked if I would like to collect our letters together. Anything you ask, my baby. Joking of course. But I am really sick and tired of doing things alone all the time. It is good to be independent; bring the manliness out of me. But sometimes it is just so sian to do things alone. Then I started daydreaming maybe we could do our grocery together, cook dinner together, go traveling together, watch DVD together, etc. As my dream clouds floated in the office, Mr. Giant came and asked everyone out for lunch.
We went to the star restaurant this time. And everyone regretted it because of the long queue. Hope tomorrow we will have sandwiches. But not eating out at a restaurant for me. I can’t afford that. Mr. Giant asked me about my trip to Vannes and I said it was quite disappointing as it rained the whole day. Laurent then asked me among all these places that I visited, which one was the best. Without hesitation I said it was Mont St Michel. For the rest, I felt they were quite average, not really fascinating. Then he said in 2 or 3 weeks time he and his friends would be going to the coast and stay over at his parents’ house there. He said I should go with him because the north coast of Brittany is very beautiful. The granite rocks are all pink. Isn’t that Cap Frehel? Pink rocks? He said the place is not exactly at the famous Cap Frehel but somewhere near. This is great. I have always wanted to go to Cap Fehel but find it too inaccessible. He said he would inform me again. Hope the trip doesn’t clash with the Broceliande Forest trip which Mr. Giant is organizing.
In the afternoon, I asked Mr. Giant to teach me how to set printers using Linux commands. He is really an expert in Linux. Then I went to return my DVD and was disappointed that the office was closed till next Monday. That auntie is on holidays again. She should tell me earlier so that I would borrow 2 DVDs. Luckily I still have 8 movies with me and lots of anime. Next week there would be a public holiday on Thursday and perhaps I can have a LOTR trilogy. The hostel problem has not resolved yet. All my bookings were canceled as they said they didn’t receive my amendments to my card details. Hence I decided to rebook everything but using my POSB debit card this time. Half of the hostels accepted debit card while the rest do not. So for those that only accept credit card, I used the France credit card again. Hope everything would go through fine. Guess I would only know if the transactions are successful on Wednesday.
Then I chatted with hui and is glad that he would be going to Lyon coming weekend. That’s good for him because he has been staying in Grenoble for almost all the weekends. Moreover, it will be his birthday coming Sunday! But he said he wouldn’t tell his colleagues who are bringing him to Lyon. I thought he should so that they can have a mini celebration. I think it is a rare opportunity to celebrate birthday in a foreign country. It doesn’t have to be a grand celebration. Even just having his colleagues singing “Happy Birthday” song to him in French is good enough. If I were there, I would record the French version of the birthday song. Wonder how would my birthday be like here.
Towards the end of the day, I was reading a friend’s blog and was shocked that all her entries were dedicated to her God. I never knew she is such a devoted Christian. Her devotion really is admirable but some of her entries were pretty sad. She sometimes felt upset because her parents didn’t believe in her religion. Her parents are not at all supportive of her beliefs. Then hui asked me if I were to fall in love with a Christian girl, would I convert to Christianity. I answered yes without hesitation, even adding the words “without a single doubt”. Come on, this girl is supposed to be the love of my life and of course I would do anything for her. If you have not yet realised, I am Buddhist, by convenience more than devotion as both my parents are Buddhists. Then hui said if I am a Christian, I can’t offer even 1 incense stick when my parents passed away. Wah. So serious. Then I began to have some doubts with my initial answer. Just hope that when the time does arrive, I would know what to do then. Ok, I broke my promise of not indulging in religious issue, but really I am running out of things to write for today’s blog. Hope something drastic or interesting would happen tomorrow so that I have things to write. A peaceful life is also a boring one.

While on the way back from the supermart, there was this chicken mascot along the street and I think they were shooting a commercial. A few crews were there with camera and the long mic. And some kids were cycling around. I walked past them hoping that I would be on TV. I have never been on TV before. Don’t know when that would happen. Every time they have those shows whereby they go on the streets and interview passerby, I always wonder why I am not among those lucky ones. I really want to go on TV! Star Search is not for me because I am not handsome and tall enough. And I don’t want to go to Gao Xiao Xin Dong and join the Liang Jia Ban because I don’t want to be a comedian. I am a very serious person. No joke. I think from now on I would have a new English name. Serious Tan. Sounds quite seh.
